N. E. Thing Co. Ltd. was a collaboration between Iain Baxter& and Ingrid Baxter from 1966-1978. The company created works that highlighted the creative potential of ordinary spaces, utilizing a variety of mediums including the construction of their family home and the process of a transcontinental road trip. In North American Time Zone Photo—V.S.I. Simultaneity, the company arranged for photographers in each of the six time zones in North America to take photographs simultaneously of the same subject matter. By viewing these images on the same page, one is reminded of the effect that one’s geographic location has on their life, experiences, privileges and hardships.
