Marion Osborn Cunningham was a Bay Area painter and printmaker. In the 1930s she was well-known as a pastel artist, and in the 1940s for her printmaking when she began producing serigraphs, also known as silk screen printing. Her compositions were praised for their curious, dreamlike charm and color harmony, as epitomized in this depiction of the Golden Gate Bridge and the industrial harbor of the embarcadero at sunset.
