Jacomena Maybeck

Jacomena Maybeck was a Bay Area ceramicist. Maybeck was born in Indonesia and immigrated to the United States with her Dutch parents as a child. She grew up near Ukiah in Mendocino County. She earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1927, and a master's degree in ceramics from the California College of Arts and Crafts in 1952. She taught there for many years, retiring in 1978.
