Nancy Adams
American,
(active late 20th Century–early 21st Century)
Nancy Adams is an American sculptor and ceramicist working and living in Eugene, Oregon. Adams’ artwork echoes her passion for nature, resulting in ceramic sculptures that reflect a celebration of plant and animal life.
Born and raised in San Francisco, Adams earned her Associates degree studying ceramics at San Francisco City College. Each piece is individually wheel-thrown, hand-carved, and adorned with motifs of flora and fauna. In addition to giving form to her strong relationship with nature, Adams also takes inspiration from Greco-Roman mythology as well as Egyptian and Native American storytelling.
