Ron Nagle, Mills Emeritus Professor of Art, is known for his intimately scaled, meticulously crafted and brilliantly colored ceramic pieces. Inspired by the serene spareness of Giorgio Morandi’s still-life paintings, Nagle aims to create objects with an enigmatic presence that combines elegance and awkwardness. This series of works was donated to the museum by bequest of Marilyn Mary, who was the administrative assistant in the Art and Art History Department for over 25 years.
