Native American, Native American

Object Type: Baskets
Creation Place: North America, United States, California
Medium and Support: Plant fiber
Credit Line: Found in Collection
Accession Number: 1969.111
Technique: It's coiled, not twined and it shows incredible technique and a tight weave.

Cultural affiliation notes: It’s definitely Pomo, but that’s still pretty broad. This is a pretty undecorated one compared to the feathered and beaded Pomo baskets that many museums display.

Citation: Barrett Samuel A. Pomo Indian Basketry. Berkeley: University of California Press, 1908.
