Terry St. John

A prominent member of the Bay Area art community for over five decades, Terry St. John was renowned for his thickly layered, chromatic paintings of lush, abstracted natural settings and, later, figures situated within environments he termed “living-room landscapes.” He also served as associate curator of modern painting for 20 years at the Oakland Museum of California.
