Eva Almond Withrow

American , (1858–1928)
Evelyn Almond Withrow was an American portrait, still life and genre painter. A cosmopolitan and widely recognized painter of celebrity portraits and floral still lifes, Evelyn Withrow spent much of her career in San Francisco. She also did paintings of Native American subjects, including images of Hopi and Navajo peoples. Her salons were highly popular, and she was the first president of the San Francisco Society of Women Artists. Her style combined realism, mysticism and symbolism with many allegorical figure works.
