Gustav Hagemann

German, (1891–1982)
Gustav Hagemann was a German landscape painter who worked in an expressionist style. He studied at the art school in Kassel, Germany and then studied sculpture in Munich. From 1927 onwards he exhibited in Berlin galleries and became known for his landscapes from the North, where he went on expeditions. He fought during both World Wars and during this time much of his early work was lost.
