Frederick J. Hoertz

American, (1889–1978)
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Frederick Hoertz was a marine painter and lithographer who worked for shipbuilding and aircraft companies. Hoertz studied at the Brooklyn Institute, the Art Students League, and the Albright Institute in Buffalo. Hoertz contributed to ship camouflage during World War I.
