Edward Fisher

Irish, (1730–after 1781)
Dublin-born Edward Fisher moved to London in 1758 and worked in the studio of engraver James McArdell. The following year he was selected by Sir Joshua Reynolds to produce a mezzotint engraving of his portrait of Augustus Keppel. Fisher went on to engrave nearly thirty more of Reynold's paintings. A member of the Society of Artists, throughout the 1760s and 1770s Fisher regularly exhibited engraved portraits after a number of painters.
