Richard Misrach

Richard Misrach is an American artist known for his large-format landscape photographs of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Mississippi River, and the U.S. Mexican border. In his ongoing Desert Cantos series, Misrach explores his interest in the deserts of the American Southwest. Born in Los Angeles, CA, he graduated with a BA in psychology from the University of California in 1971. His work is often focuses on environmentalist concerns, sometimes capturing the negative effects that humans have had on nature.
