Shigeya Iwabuchi

Iwabuchi Shigaya was a versatile and masterful potter from Kyoto who embraced salt firing early on and was one of few potters firing in this method during the 60s and 70s. He was highly regarded, having studied with two Ningen Kokuho; Tomimoto Kenkichi and Kondo Yuzo. Iwabuchi also taught two potters who are very well known in the West: Kako Katsumi and Richard Milgrim. Iwabuchi exhibited widely and his works are extensively published.
