Kiyoshi Hara

Kiyoshi Hara was born in Shimane prefecture and studied with Ishiguro Munemaro starting in 1954 and then briefly with Shimizu Uichi. After studying with these masters Hara established a kiln in Tokyo in 1965 before moving to his present location in Saitama prefecture in 1980. Hara is noted for his deep iron glazes and motifs of horses and birds.
